Some thoughts on gratitude
There are so many details of my life that I don't share here. No one reading this has the complete picture of what's been in my head or heart, so perhaps some of the things I post here seem needlessly self-indulgent without further context. But further context be damned. All I can say is that, at this moment, I am grateful. I'm grateful for the pain I've gone through. I'm grateful for the self-hatred, the grief and heartache. I'm grateful for the hard work of teasing apart the threads of that pain, and becoming stronger for it. I'm grateful for the time and place that I am in, for the person I am, and for the time, place and person, that I will become as I continue to work through things. I'm grateful that I have the opportunity to do this work, to learn from my past, and to find joy in becoming.
